This month’s charity has been chosen by Kim, our Senior Sales Administrator. She has chosen Mesothelioma UK to receive our donation.
She has chosen Mesothelioma UK due to a dear family friend dying of this rare cancer, leaving behind a wife and children.
Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that develops in the lining of the body’s internal organs, called the mesothelium. Up to 80 percent of mesotheliomas begin in the lining of the lungs and are called pleural mesothelioma.
The primary cause is asbestos exposure, inhaling asbestos fibres, which were widely used in construction and manufacturing until their ban in 1999.
