September Charity Contribution

This month Stuart our Managing Director chose the Royal National Lifeboat Institution as his nominated charity.

This charity is totally staffed by volunteers that put their lives on the line regularly to rescue and assist people in distress, and is totally financed by public donations, lifeboat station shops and fund raising.

Due to Covid 19 their finances have been severely hit at a time when demand for help and call outs has been at the highest level ever due to people holidaying in the UK. Additionally, the poor weather over the past year has resulted in the RNLI being called on for help in flooding and land based rescues to support the fire service and other Government financed operations, without any financial recompense.

To protect their volunteers all their shops and lifeboat stations have been closed, resulting in more lost funding, consequently this group of heroic people who regularly put their lives on the line need every bit of help possible. The £100 will buy new boots, buoyancy jackets, or just put fuel in a rescue boat for the day so it is available 24 hours a day every day. I know a couple of Lifeboat crew people and respect their courage, commitment and dedication to go out often in such dangerous conditions.
